Dr Gbèwonmèdéa Hospice DASSOU

Dr. Gbèwonmèdéa Hospice DASSOU is an Assistant Professor of Botany at the National Herbarium of Benin, University of Abomey-Calavi (Republic of Benin). He has been recently appointed as the Head of the Botanical and Zoological Garden Edouard Adjanohoun of his University. Hospice teaches and conducts research on plant species of conservation interests (rare, endemic, and threatened) in ecosystems such as mountains and rainforest relics, and contributes also to set up plan for their long-term conservation through ecological applications. He co-supervised over 10 graduate students and published over 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Eng. Forestry and Agroforestry Salako Kolawolé Valère

Dr. Kolawolé Valère Salako is currently a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Environment Management, Faculty of Agronomic Sciences, University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin. Prior to joining this position, he was a postdoc at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, in Belgium, and a recipient of a Wallonie-Bruxelles International Excellence Fellowship. He was also an alumnus of the ClimapAfrica  postdoc programme. He is recipicent of several individual and collaborative research programmes. His research focuses on biodiversity conservation, plants' response to biotic and abiotic stresses, Biodiversity and Ecosystem function relationships, Analysis of traditional agroforestry systems, and Statistical modelling.
